Cannot get contacts to sync

I have installed and uninstalled, reset, restarted, and re everything else, and I still cannot get the contacts to sync. Before the software update and right up till it froze last week my contacts synced flawlessly as well as my calendar events. My phone froze on Saturday October 18th, and once I got it to operate again my contacts won't sync. I really liked syncing wirelessly, but alas now I don't know what is wrong. If I create a contact on my iPhone it dissappears within seconds off in to the wild blue yonder...?
